If Everything Feels Heavier Right Now
Reflecting on what helps you feel better also helps you to find ways to actually feel better.

Interpretation

There are moments when everything feels more difficult

You feel tired, even after resting.
You don’t feel like talking. Things that used to matter don’t feel the same anymore. In these moments, your mind starts to interpret everything through that feeling.

A small situation can feel much bigger.

Not getting a reply can be interpreted as: “They don’t care.”
But in reality, it might only mean: “They’re busy.” Or “Something happened.”

Your mind and how you feel fills in the gaps. It uses past experiences, and memories to create a quick explanation of the situation.

From small
moments
to feeling
better

This is interpretation.
It is how your mind makes sense of what is happening.
When you feel low, your perspective becomes narrower.

You see fewer possibilities.
Fewer explanations.

When you feel bad, this narrowing becomes stronger.
Everything can start to feel heavier, more permanent, more personal.
That is how one feeling can turn into a whole story.

Pause before you react

There is a space between what you feel and what you believe

When a thought appears, it feels true.

Instead of sticking to negative thoughts, ask yourself:

  • What makes you happy?
  • What am I good in, and what would I like to do?
  • With whom do I feel well?

What is meaningful to me?
